Love The 818 exists to serve the people and community of Burbank. Our heart is to make sure that every person knows that Jesus loves them not simply based on our words, but through how we love and serve one another.

FEED THE 818
We're excited to serve our community at our next Feed the 818 outreach on Saturday, October, 17th.
We'll need volunteers to help with setting up, cooking and serving hamburgers, connecting with our guests, and cleaning up afterwards! If you're available, we'd love for you to join us!
We're also collecting donations to bless those we'll be serving. Here are some of our greatest needs:
Clothing (new or gently used, in good condition): Men's and women's clothing, Shoes
New Items Only: Socks, Underwear
Hygiene Products: Toothbrushes, Toothpaste*, Body wipes*, Lotion*, Soap, Shampoo, Deodorant, Any other travel-size hygiene essentials (*Highest needs)
Costco Gift Cards: These help us purchase the food and supplies for the outreach.
We'll be serving hamburgers with all the toppings, chips, drinks, water, ice, and coffee.
Thank you for your generosity and for being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Every donation, every gift card, and every volunteer makes a real difference in someone's life.

We will be supporting the Family Service Agency of Burbank at their annual fundraiser gala by selling raffle tickets and managing the silent auction.
The Family Services Agency has been treating the mental and emotional well-being of children, adults and families suffering silently through Counseling, Preventing, Educating, and Advocating since 1953.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.
Shoebox sized boxes are packed with fun and useful items and then they are shipped through Samaritan's Purse outside and inside the United States.
Here are ways that you can help:
1) Pray for the Operation Christmas Child program and the people that it serves.
2) Pick up a box in the community room starting October 25th, pack it and return it before Nov 15th
3) Attend the OCC Packing Party (Saturday, November 14th). All collected donations are used on this day to build as many boxes as we can!
4) Visit the Amazon wish list and purchase items for the OCC Packing Party
5) Donate to help alleviate the shipping cost for Samaritans Purse ($10 per box)

ASCENSIA DINNER
We will prepare a teriyaki chicken bento dinner and feed families on site at Ascencia.
Ascencia’s mission is to lift people out of homelessness, one person, one family at a time. They provide a community where people in need can find services, resources, and safe, affordable housing to rebuild their lives. They serve as a 45-bed emergency shelter and showers to accommodate shelter residents and others on the waiting list.

BLOOD DRIVE
We are partnering with Cedars Sinai for our bi-annual blood drive. There will be a mobile bus on site and they have no finger prick technology! Everything provided at absolutely no cost or fees: be able to find out your own individual blood type and also select a favorite complimentary thank-you gift card.
**In addition, every year the Children/Family outreach team at Cedars gives away items to underprivileged communities through a program called 'Coach For Kids'. They have a regular route of schools they service with basic health issues, dental screenings, and social services throughout the year. We'd love for all those that can to bring an unwrapped toy / school item, gift card, or new blanket, and we will include those items to the other hospital community program for their distribution which will take place in early December.**
